“ i had the kids size chicken biryani. it was very good lots of rice very tasty 5 stars! ”
“ I find it odd that a review on here says that it's weird that someone would come to this country to have a better life but still listen to things that happened 1400 years ago... I don't understand how those two go together, but okay. I actually have not been inside of this establishment, and have always had a family member pick up food from outside, but it is the only place that I actually request biryani from I feel like it tastes the most authentic and taste like degh biryani that we get in Karachi, Pakistan. We don't get it very spicy, because we don't eat very spicy would but I like it to have a little bit of a kick and I think the potato in here taste good as well, even though I usually don't like potato inside of biryani. I also enjoy their zarda, it has gulab jamun and koya and isn't all oil or butter or whatever like other places. Would recommend! ”
“ Not bad as my first time eating at Student Biryani (located at Hillcroft Shopping Plaza). Thanks to Brian D explained to me about the origin of "Student". To me, I felt the employees are the students. They are still learning to get better. My first time here was to watch my coworkers filming a foodie interview. They order so many dishes but only mint lemonade caught my interest. Then, I came back was gonna get a cup of this green drink. But as soon as I walked in, the pleasant aroma stunned me to rethink of my choice. I looked at the menu and saw curry being on top and the rest of food were foreign to me. I skipped fried chicken and the family dinner part of the menu. I saw biryani plates last time and it looked dry. Skipped that too. Being an afternoon snack, I ordered Chicken Korma. I had no idea what it was. Because of the price $10.99 seemed expensive because there was no starch to go with. I asked about bread. Cashier asked "how about naan?" Oh perfect! I was constantly checking on the Ramadan calendar because I don't want to meet the dinner rush. They food was taking quite a while. Cashier came to my table and said, "sorry we ran out of chicken korma. Would you want to replace it with goat korma?" Yeah sure but I'm not paying the difference. At that point, I was about to ask for a refund because I waited almost a half hour and I haven't had my drink yet. Lo and behold, my food arrived at 4:53 and drink arrived at 5:02. You know, I'm racing against time. Sun is setting and I can feel it. The dish was very flavorful with lots of spices. Considered mild, it burned through my taste bud. I can still feel it in my belly hours later. This is definitely not a fast-food restaurant but decent Indian food restaurant with counter order. Employees didn't laugh at my lack of food knowledge. I appreciate the free upgrade on top of that. I might swing by again to try different things when I get a knowledgeable friend to tag along. ”
“ I was looking for something cheap. I found " Student" Biryani. The word " student" made me think that it would be cheap like cup noodles.LOL. I was wrong. Everything was expensive for me. I mean I am super poor. The cheapest rice biryani was $6.99. I didn't have the other choice and ordered it. i was surprised that there was no complimentary water. The water bottle was $2.15 including tax! I told them " Please no spicy". But I got some spicy biryani. I was born and raised in Japan. My Japanese tongue was not used to some spicy food. I was still not sure if they gave me " no spicy one". I was not a Pakistani. I can't tell you this was very authentic biryani or not. But it was very expensive. I put 4 stars. But actually, it was three stars. I simply didn't lower the scores on Yelp. Again, it is expensive. This is not for a poor student. The name is misleading. I won't return here. Sorry. ”
